Deputy Speaker Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said Friday, Sept. 11 that his political partnership with Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya and Vice Mayor Claudio Puentevella is expected to continue in the 2028 elections.
He noted that there have been no formal discussions yet on their plans, noting that political considerations remain secondary as they focus on pressing issues facing the city and the province.
“We have not yet talked about 2028,” Benitez said, adding that they have yet to ask each other what they want to happen in the next elections.
He downplayed speculations circulating on social media about possible changes in their political lineup.
“I don’t think it will happen,” Benitez said, adding that there is no reason for them to break ranks.
“The partnership will continue in 2028. Why will it not?” he asked. | GPB
