The COVID risk classification of Bacolod City dropped from high to moderate, the Department of Health Region 6 Center for Health Development said, citing a slight reduction in the average daily attack rate (ADAR), growth of cases, and health care utilization rate (HCUR), as of June 20.
Negros Occidental, on the other hand, remains in the “low risk” classification, Dr. Marie Jocelyn Te said in her report during the “Isyung Baukna” online program of the Philippine Information Agency 6 and DOH-WV on June 21.
The ADAR of Bacolod City slightly dropped from 18.03 to 17.43 per 100,000 population in the past two weeks, while that of Negros Occidental was at 3.73 from 4.21, in the same period.
The growth of COVID-19 cases in Bacolod was recorded at negative three, and negative 12 for Negros Occidental, Te said.
DOH6 records further show that the HCUR in Bacolod City in the past 14 days was at 64.24 percent and 46.88 percent for Negros Occidental.
The ADAR, HCUR, and 2WGR, or the percentage rate of growth, are taken into consideration by the DOH in recommending the community quarantine status of an area.
Himamaylan City, meanwhile, recorded the highest number of clustering of cases in the province at 119.
Te said the number of cases in Western Visayas, despite getting the low-risk classification, continues to increase.
Aklan and Guimaras were placed under the high risk classification, while HCUR is still at moderate risk.
She also reported that positivity rate continues to increase from June 13 to 20, indicating an increased transmission of COVID, from 7.3 percent to 8 percent. — GB
