Guests and employees of Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Murcia, Negros Occidental can now enjoy improved internet connectivity, following the installation of two additional Starlink internet dishes provided by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said the new equipment strengthens the resort’s public Wi-Fi network, bringing the total number of Starlink dishes on-site to six.
Four of the existing units were funded by the Negros Occidental provincial government while the latest two were donated by the DICT as part of efforts to enhance digital access in public facilities.
Recent speed tests conducted in key public areas showed significant improvements in connectivity.
The resort’s small pool and local government cottages recorded the fastest connection at 139.5 Mbps with an 18-millisecond latency.
The Spa and Garden Café also delivered strong performance with speeds reaching 55.5 Mbps.
Meanwhile, the food park and river dipping area achieved 23.4 Mbps.
Some locations continue to experience slower speeds, with the Picnic Hut ABCD area registering only 7.03 Mbps and the big pool area recording 5.20 Mbps.
Resort management is expected to continue monitoring network performance to ensure reliable service across all guest areas.
Diaz said that Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has prioritized the establishment of dependable internet connectivity in all Negros Occidental provincial government facilities.
The initiative aims to support business operations, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and improve public access to digital services.
At Mambukal Resort, the enhanced connectivity is expected to elevate the guest experience by providing more reliable internet access for visitors while also supporting the operational needs of resort personnel, he added. | GB
