The first year anniversary of the Dauin Mega Market marked a significant milestone in the development of the town, with no less than Senator Imee Marcos and Negros Oriental Governor Chaco Sagarbarria as guests of honor, July 16.
They were welcomed by Municipal Mayor Galicano Truita and other officials, who explained the importance of the establishment.
With over a hundred stalls for tenants and additional office spaces, the market is not just a place for commerce but also a symbol of progress and hope for the community, the Capitol said in a press release.
The expected annual income of at least P10 million from the market operations will not only benefit the local economy but also fund other development projects in the town, it added.
Meanwhile, Sagarbarria also led a site inspection of the Hall of Justice in Piapi, Dumaguete City, July 16, and plans to improve its facilities for the judiciary staff and clients.
Personnel from the Provincial Engineering Office, led by Engr. Andrei Reyes, checked the building amid plans for renovation, and ensured that all aspects of the project are considered and addressed effectively.
The governor’s plans include an elevator and a parking area with a garden, not only to improve the functionality of the Hall of Justice but also to enhance its aesthetic appeal.
These upgrades will create a more welcoming environment for judiciary staff and clients, ultimately improving the efficiency and morale within the justice system, the Capitol said. ||
