The DOH-6 also reported two new cases yesterday.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that although the city’s COVID-19 cases continue to decrease, it is no reason to celebrate because the virus is still around.

“Please continue to be vigilant because in other countries, the virus keeps on coming back…We just need your cooperation. Let us support each other,” Leonardia said in a video message to city residents.

Leonardia also thanked the medical front-liners, including doctors, nurses, and medical technologists and other health workers, who helped the city’s fight against Covid-19, along with the members of the local Inter-Agency Task Force and Emergency Operations Center, as well as the personnel of Philippine National Police, Philippine Army and the Philippine Coast Guard.

He acknowledged the work of the barangay officials with their health emergency response teams, and also the workers who serve and watch the quarantine facilities for locally-stranded individuals and overseas Filipino workers. – NLG
