The Bacolod City National High School’s softball team is poised for a bold international campaign at the Junior League Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington, set for July 26 to August 3, 2025.
Fresh off a bronze medal finish at the 2025 Palarong Pambansa, the team departed for Manila July 15 for final preparations before their U.S. journey, the city said in a press release, adding they will face elite competitors on the global stage.

Ace pitcher Criszhiel Barlita of Barangay Mandalagan will lead the charge, with the team opening their campaign in a July 27 double-header against formidable opponents from the West and Southwest regions, at Elms Street Park in Seattle, Washington.
The official team roster includes Princess Ablig, Charice Barlita, Jewel Myles Bejar, Hezekiah Cuerda, Karen Benjamin, Chantal Entira, Alexsyres Mariano, Audrey Coleen Matarong, Cryziel Nombre, Jhorena Lee Palermo, Chezka Palmera, and Faith Tamba.
The coaching staff include assistant Kaith Ezra Jalandoni and Joshua Diaz, trainer John Cordero, and support staff Jelly Perez, and DepEd officials.
Head coach Lizviminda Jalandoni shared her anticipation for the team’s international pursuit in regaining the softball world series crown.
“I’m happy and excited for the kids, and I look forward to seeing them give it their all for Bacolod,” Jalandoni said. “It’s been years since we last brought home a world title. I want them to experience the thrill of winning on the international stage.”
Bacolod captured the World Series glory in 2003, and the 2025 BCNHS squad vowed to bring that championship feeling back.
BCNHS principal Richard Gelangre expressed pride in the team and their achievement. “I’m proud as your principal that you will represent our school and our city at the World Series. Good luck, coach Lizvi, and thank you to everyone supporting the team.”
Gelangre also extended his gratitude to DepEd Bacolod Schools Division superintendent Dennis Develos, Mayor Greg Gasataya, Councilor Al Victor Espino, and the local government unit of Bacolod for their invaluable support. ||
