The Philippine Army’s 302nd Infantry Brigade (IB) in Negros Island has strengthened its operational readiness and interoperability for external security operations, following the successful completion of its Brigade Combined Arms Training (BCAT) for 2026.

The training concluded on Oct. 17 at the 302IB headquarters in Tanjay City, bringing together commanders and personnel from various Army and supporting units.

Participating units included the 11th, 15th and 47th Infantry Battalions, Alpha Battery of the 3rd Field Artillery Battalion, 6th Cavalry Medical Team, 3rd Signal Battalion and the 703rd Community Defense Center.

The BCAT focused on reception, staging, onward movement and integration (RSOI) as well as simulated defensive and offensive operations designed to improve troop coordination, command and control, and mission execution.

Brig. Gen. Jason Jumawan, 302IB commander, commended the participating units for their professionalism and commitment throughout the training.

Jumawan underscored the importance of effective RSOI, incorporating lessons learned from previous operations, enhancing interoperability among units, and adopting modern technologies to further improve combat readiness and mission effectiveness.

The activity culminated in the presentation of awards to the subject matter experts in recognition of their contributions to the successful conduct of the training. | GPB
