Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya has urged barangays to immediately report any ambulance breakdown to ensure that emergency response teams remain fully operational.
He said that while the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) handles incoming emergency calls, the city continues to tap nearby barangay units to ensure faster transport of patients to hospitals.
Gasataya also said they are now awaiting the arrival of six electric patient transport vehicles (PTVs) that the city bought to reinforce the existing fleet.
He said the vehicles will be deployed to far-flung barangays while others will replace old PTVs.
Gasataya said a major challenge in the past was that emergency responders face hospital admission delays due to stretchers left at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) after patient transfers.
The mayor had ordered the deployment of additional city personnel at CLMMRH to manage equipment turnover, and ensure that stretchers are returned to ambulances immediately after use. | TMD
