A 19-year-old suspect was arrested by police in San Jose, Negros Oriental, for 25 counts of statutory rape and acts of lasciviousness.
Operatives of the San Jose Municipal Police Station (MPS) apprehended alias “Chris” June 16, during an Oplan Tracker operation in Barangay Tapon Norte.
The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) tagged the suspect as the region’s 9th most wanted person, and is accused of conspiring with another to repeatedly molest a minor victim.
Authorities said the suspect is now under the custody of the San Jose MPS for proper documentation, and will be turned over to the court that issued the arrest warrant.
“Through intensified manhunt operations and the continued implementation of the SAFE NIR program, PRO-NIR remains steadfast in fostering safer communities, strengthening public trust, and delivering responsive and intelligence-driven policing,” the police said in a statement. | TMD
