NegOr mayors attend 4th LMP chapter meeting

Leaders from across Negros Oriental gathered for the 4th League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Negros Oriental chapter meeting in Dumaguete City recently.

The gathering served as venue for municipal mayors and local officials to discuss priority programs, pressing concerns, and collaborative initiatives, aimed at strengthening governance and delivering better services to communities across the province.

Highlighting the event was the message of Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria, who reaffirmed the provincial government’s strong support to local government units and its commitment to responsive, people-centered leadership.

In attendance were DILG provincial director Farah Gentuya, acting Dauin Mayor Alvin Truita, Sibulan Councilor Dino Abiera, Vice Mayor of Ayungon Nelda Favillaran, Amlan Mayor Manjoe Sycip, Mayor Hazel Tuanda, San Jose Mayor Melnick Logronio, Zamboanguita Mayor Jonah Pat Aviles, Manjuyod Mayor Raffy Andaya, Pamplona Mayor Nikko Ramirez, DA-NIR director Alejandro Rafal, and Mabinay Mayor and LMP chapter president Ernie Uy.

Key agenda items tackled during the meeting included the implementation of assistance programs for farmers and fisherfolk, cash relief initiatives, Local Government Support Fund orientation, and updates from the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

The meeting also strengthened unity, coordination, and partnerships among local leaders as they continue working together for a more progressive and empowered Negros Oriental. ||
