Capitol, 32 NegOcc LGUs pass 2025 DILG’s GFH assessment

The provincial government of Negros Occidental, the province’s 31 cities and municipalities, and the highly-urbanized Bacolod City have sustained excellence as they passed the 2025 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) assessment.

In a statement, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) commended the passers for the   outstanding achievement as it also encouraged them to continue fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and good governance in the service of every Negrense.

The 2025 GFH passers in Negros Occidental include the municipalities of E.B. Magalona, Binalbagan, Calatrava, Candoni, Cauayan, Hinigaran, Hinobaan, Ilog, Isabela, La Castellana, Manapla, Moises Padilla, Murcia, Pontevedra, Pulupandan, Salvador Benedicto, San Enrique, Toboso and Valladolid as well as the  cities of  Bago, Cadiz, Escalante, Himamaylan, Kabankalan, La Carlota, Sagay, San Carlos, Silay, Sipalay, Talisay and Victorias.

The GFH seal is granted to local government units (LGUs) that follow budgeting, accounting, and auditing standards set by the Commission on Audit, Department of Budget and Management, and DILG.

LGUs that earn the GFH seal qualify for performance-based incentives and demonstrate sound handling of public funds.

In a statement, the DILG-Negros Occidental said the province’s perfect record stands as a testament to the collective efforts of the local chief executives, Sanggunian members, local finance committees, and public servants in ensuring that government resources are managed with integrity and accountability.

Other 2025 GFH passers in Negros Island Region are the provincial government of Negros Oriental, cities of Dumaguete, Bayawan, Bais and Guihulngan along with the municipalities of Ayungon, Bacong, Basay, Bindoy, Dauin, Jimalalud, La Libertad, Mabinay, Manjuyod, Pamplona, San Jose, Sibulan, Tayasan, Valencia, Vallehermoso and Zamboaguita.

Also listed as passers are the Siquijor provincial government as well as the municipalities of Enrique Villanueva, Larena, Lazi, Maria and Siquijior. | GPB
