The provincial government of Negros Oriental marked a major step toward public safety and tourism with the blessing of the newly-renovated Police Provincial Office Tourist Police Unit, turnover and blessing of tourist police patrol cars, and presentation of new tourist police uniforms in Dauin town recently.

Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria, whose continued support for peace, order, and tourism development remains strong, led the event along with Provincial Tourism Board executive director Woodrow Maquiling Jr. and P/Col. Timmar Alam, director of the Police Provincial Office.

The newly-improved Tourist Police Unit office, additional patrol vehicles, and upgraded uniforms symbolized the province’s commitment to ensuring a safer and more welcoming environment for both locals and visitors, its press release said. “With stronger security measures and proactive leadership, Negros Oriental continues to rise as a premier tourist destination where safety and progress go hand in hand.”

The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, meanwhile, said the blessing and turnover marked a significant step in strengthening the operational capability of the Tourist Police Unit by enhancing its facilities, mobility assets, and service readiness in ensuring the safety and security of tourists and local visitors.

It also reinforced NOrPPO’s commitment to responsive, efficient, and service-oriented policing in support of the province’s tourism development initiatives. ||
