PBrig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales formally assumed leadership of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) on Sept. 7.
He succeeded PBrig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, who was designated as police regional director of Eastern Visayas.
Reales took charge of PRO-NIR during the turnover ceremony held on Monday at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
A member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1996 “Kaagapay,” Reales brings extensive experience in police service and leadership as he takes over a regional office that continues to build its organization, capabilities, and delivery of police services across Negros and Siquijor.
His assumption comes at a crucial stage in PRO-NIR’s development.
Since its establishment, the regional office has focused on strengthening police operations, developing its personnel, improving organizational systems, and sustaining partnerships with local government units, government agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
Under Reales, PRO-NIR is expected to further strengthen these efforts, with emphasis on crime prevention and solution, law enforcement, addressing security threats, and maintaining a visible and responsive police presence in communities throughout the region.
PRO-NIR spokesperson Lt. Col. Joem Malong said Reales will also focus on strengthening the capabilities, discipline, and professionalism of PRO-NIR personnel, recognizing that an effective police organization depends on officers who are competent, accountable, and committed to serving the public with integrity. | GPB
