The Philippine National Police (PNP) praised rallyists in Negros Island Region, who participated in the Trillion Peso March on Sunday (Sept. 21), for the peaceful conduct of rallies.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, police regional director, said a zero-crime incident was achieved through a well-executed deployment that ensured visibility and quick response.

The strategy was reinforced by close coordination with local government units and partner-agencies as well as effective intelligence monitoring and situational awareness, he added.

“Public cooperation and adherence to guidelines were crucial in maintaining order,” Ibay said, adding that this was strengthened by sound security preparations, respect for human rights, maximum tolerance, and proactive coordination.

Some 1,879 police personnel were deployed across the region, strategically assigned to rally sites, major thoroughfares, and other critical areas to ensure maximum visibility and quick response.

“The actions of the rallyists were instrumental in keeping the event safe and orderly,” he added. | GB
