3 killed in road accidents

Three motorcycle riders died while another three individuals were injured in separate vehicular accidents in Ilog and La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, June 17, the police reported.

A 26-year-old teacher of Kabankalan Catholic College was killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles at Crossing Biaren in Barangay Manalad, Ilog.

The black Skygo motorcycle driven by alias “Jun”, 29, allegedly attempted to overtake an unidentified vehicle and entered the opposite lane.

This resulted in a head-on collision with a Yamaha Sniper 155 motorcycle driven by alias “Vince”, a teacher and resident of Barangay Yao-yao in Cauayan.

Both riders sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City, where “Vince” was declared dead on arrival while “Jun” also later died.

In La Castellana, a 49-year-old laborer died on the roadside of Hacienda Nahalinan in Barangay Robles.

The victim, alias “Nel,” a resident of Barangay Robles, was pushing his malfunctioned red Honda TMX 155 tricycle on the side of the road when a black Kawasaki Bajaj 125 motorcycle driven by alias “Ken”, a 35-year-old pizza maker, hit him.

The police reported that alias “Nel” was declared dead on arrival at the Municipal Health Unit treatment facility while alias “Ken” is being treated of his injuries at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.

The wife and son of alias “Nel,” who was with him during the accident, were unharmed, the police said. | GPB
