“Shards of Dreams,” the solo exhibition of multi-hyphenate creative Tey Ihvonie Maravilla Sevilleno opened at Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod April 24, and will run until June 29.

Sevilleno’s diverse body of work on display at the Art Cove includes watercolor and gouache paintings, linocut prints, and intricately crafted mosaics.

Also known as TeySev, she is a visual artist and writer, who thrives on solo travels and creative companionship. Her watercolor paintings capture the moments and landscapes she encounters while journeying through the Philippines and across Southeast Asia.

In her mosaic pieces, she draws inspiration from childhood memories and the rich tapestry of Philippine flora and fauna, often weaving in themes of environmental preservation.

Elizabeth Nemenzo, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod financial controller, said at the opening ceremony that “Shards of Dreams” brings together various mediums that TeySev has explored in her past exhibits.

“In her own words, each medium allows her to express a different facet of the ongoing, evolving relationship between humanity and nature,” Nemenzo said. “Today, we celebrate not just art, but the transformative power of Tey’s vision and unique perspective. She possesses a rare gift: the ability to find beauty where others might see only discarded remnants. Her art reminds us that even in our flaws, in our imperfections, there is extraordinary beauty and strength waiting to be revealed.”

TeySev said she is thankful to Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod for the opportunity to showcase her works.

She is currently the president of the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros, one of the country’s longest-standing art groups and the originator of Bacolod’s iconic MassKara Festival. | CGC photos
