Bacolod Nutrition Committee lauded for Green Banner feat

Councilor Celia Matea Flor commended the Bacolod City Nutrition Committee (BCNC) and all barangay nutrition scholars (BNS) for their efforts in securing for Bacolod the Green Banner Seal of Compliance during the 2024 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) Nov. 21 in Iloilo City.

“Congratulations to Lora Maria Teresa Clarin kag sa tanan nga BNS for the awards. I am proud of your achievements. Padayon!” Flor posted Nov. 25 after she accompanied the group in receiving the awards.

The BCNC, the implementer of the overall city nutrition program under the Urban Basic Services Division, said that Bacolod garnered an above 85 percent score during the 2024 MELLPI Pro (Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol) held in June 2024.

“Clarin, Bacolod’s nutrition program coordinator, was also awarded as Regional Outstanding City Nutrition Program Coordinator,” the BCNC said, adding she is among the Top 5 contenders vying for the National Outstanding City Nutrition Program Coordinator award.

Felisa Mae Batisla-ong, meanwhile, was recognized as Outstanding Bacolod BNS during the RNAC, which annually honors the accomplishments and efforts of local government units, local nutrition focal points, and stakeholders in advancing nutrition programs, the BCNC said.

The Bacolod delegation was also composed of city nutrition action officer Dr. Rosalie Deocampo, BNS coordinator/UBSD officer Coleen Mendoza, and Barangay 32 secretary Licel Sedurifa, it added. | CGC
