The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) logged 16 volcanic quakes at Mt. Kanlaon in the past 24 hours.
In an advisory, Phivolcs said it also recorded the emission of 7,565 tons of sulfur dioxide (SO₂) on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Mt. Kanlaon remains under Alert Level 2, indicating increased unrest.
Since Oct. 19 this year, the Kanlaon Volcano Network has recorded 55 ash emission episodes. Phivolcs also noted an ashing event on Nov. 18, which lasted for three minutes, and 11 volcanic quakes. | GB
