The MassKara Festival dancers’ participation in international events “not only highlights the hard work and dedication of the dancers but also demonstrate the Bacolodnons’ world-class talent and creative excellence,” the SP said in approving the resolution of commendation authored by Councilor Em Ang during their regular session.

The dance team that performed in Milan, composed of Jasper Mae Diocson, Relizen Jane Rafael, Joey Conlu, Jim Delgado, Roxan Cabrillos, Joedem Casabuena, Mark Philip Lamirez, Joenel Bunenventura, Kate Redimo, Richard Lopez, Romnick Rafael, and Denver Diocson, deserves to be recognized for their countless hours of practice, talent, creativity, and amazing dedication to their craft, Ang, chairperson of the SP Committee on History, Art and Culture, stressed.

She noted that this is the first time that Bacolod participated in a cultural event in Europe, through the performance of the MassKara Festival dancers.

“At the opening ceremony June 29, and during the parade and cultural program June 30, held at the Parco Idroscalo in Milan, the audience and spectators, both Filipinos and foreigners, applauded the performance of our MassKara Festival dancers as they stood and cheered in awe of the choreography, colorful costumes, headdresses and props, while many were taking photos and videos,” said Ang, who joined the dance team, several councilors, and other Bacolod officials during the Kalayaan 2024 celebration. | CGC
