The passenger terminal building at the Bacolod-Silay Airport is up for improvement/rehabilitation, with P44 million as approved budget for the contract, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
The project should be completed within 360 calendar days, inclusive of 12 rainy/unworkable days, the CAAP said, adding that a pre-bid conference will be held on July 2, while the opening of bidding will be on July 16.
The project includes structural works, like removal and disposal of existing roofing sheet, ceiling panels including lighting fixtures, wires and conduits, existing tiles, chilled water pipe insulation, aircon ducting insulation and flexible ducts, with total coverage area of 13,469.18 square meters; as well as architectural, electrical, and mechanical works.
“The contractor shall be responsible for providing safety perimeter or security fences, personal protective equipment for staff and workers on site while construction is ongoing, and all laboratory, material testing, building and safety permits and survey instruments necessary in the project implementation,” the scope of work states.
Senator Grace Poe earlier stressed the need to develop Philippine airports and make them attractive to tourists.
This year alone, Poe had said in a Senate press release that the government allocated P7.5 billion for the construction, upgrade, expansion, or rehabilitation of 22 airports across the country. | CGC
