More than P650,000 worth of suspected shabu and three unlicensed firearms were seized while six suspected drug peddlers were arrested in a series of police anti-drug operations in Negros Occidental over the weekend.

The implementation of two search warrants on April 13 at Barangay Gahit, E.B. Magalona yielded an estimated 90 grams of suspected shabu valued at P612,000, according to a report of the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas.

In a statement, regional police spokesperson PLt. Col. Arnel Solis said the arrest of two suspected drug personalities, alias “Joel”, 47, and “Russel”, 25, also led to the confiscation of a caliber .45 pistol with six ammunition and a caliber .38 revolver with six ammunition.

Alias “Joel”, who was tagged as a high-value individual, was the main subject of the search warrant, while “Russel” was classified as street-level individual.

The implementation of the search warrants issued by Judge Leonardo Facultad, presiding judge of Silay Regional Trial Court Branch 69, was carried out by personnel of E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station, 1st Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, and 605th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6.

In Cadiz City, a 30-year-old man was arrested at Purok Bolinao, Barangay Zone 6 on April 12.

The buy-bust operation led by PCapt. Gina Fernandez led to the recovery of three grams of suspected shabu worth P20,400, and a caliber .38 revolver with two live ammunition.

Three other drug suspects, including a laborer, tricycle driver and construction worker, were also apprehended by the police in separate buy-busts in Valladolid, Bago City and Cauayan on April 12.

Seized were about three grams of suspected shabu valued at P20,400, a report of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office showed.

All the arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail. | GB
