A 33-year-old mother was repeatedly stabbed to death inside her home in Sitio Dangalon, Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, July 26.
A Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) investigator said the victim’s seven-year-old daughter witnessed the attack after waking up to her mother’s cries for help.
She reportedly saw the unidentified suspect repeatedly stabbing her mother, “Ivy”, who attempted to fight back, before fleeing.
Initial police reports said the victim’s husband, a tricycle driver, arrived home at around 2:30 a.m. after working in the city proper, and saw the children crying and his wife on the floor severely bleeding.
He immediately sought assistance from neighbors and mobilized a barangay rescue vehicle to transport her to Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said investigation is ongoing to establish the identity and motive of the suspect. | TMD
