The search for the missing 17-year-old female senior high school student ended yesterday, after her body was found in a sugarcane field at Purok Masinolondon in Barangay Magsaysay, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The victim, who was already naked, succumbed to multiple hack wounds.
Her body was found about 300 meters from their residence.
She was reported missing on Jan. 7.
Policemen recovered a 24-inch bolo with a scabbard, at the crime scene, raising the possibility that it could have been used in killing of the victim.
The Cadiz City police is now pursuing the 62-year-old suspect, who was reported to have perpetrated the crime, based on the accounts of a witness.
Police report showed the medical examinations on the cadaver of the victim indicated that she was molested. | GB
