The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has distributed over P6 million in direct shelter assistance to 92 families in Barangay Inolingan, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, whose homes were damaged by Typhoon Tino in November 2025.
The LGU said 79 beneficiaries with destroyed houses received P60,000 each to purchase construction materials, while 13 beneficiaries with damaged homes received P50,000 each.
The beneficiaries paid accredited suppliers directly at the event for their building materials, while corrugated roofing sheets had already been separately distributed by the PRC prior to the cash release.
The total grant also included P695,000 to cover labor expense, with P20,000 paid for full house reconstructions and P15,000 for repairs to carpenters chosen by the homeowners.
The distribution took place Oct. 9, and was witnessed by Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo, Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo Yulo III, and PRC Negros Occidental Chapter administrator Rita Benita Mirasol. | TMD
