Officials and employees of the Department of Education, employed on full-time or part-time basis, will receive P3,000 in milestone anniversary bonus, provided that they have rendered at least one year of service.

Teaching and non-teaching personnel eligible to receive the bonus are permanent, coterminous, provisional, temporary, casual, or contractual, whose employment is in the nature of a regular employee, DepEd Order 11, signed by DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte dated June 19 and made public on Thursday, June 22, said.

Those not eligible to get the bonus are officials and employees who are absent without leave, or no longer in the service as of June 23 this year; those found guilty of any offense in connection with their work during the five-year interval between the milestone years; as well as consultants, contracts of service, job orders, and others similarly situated.

The grant of the bonus shall not be earlier than June 23 this year, or the 125th founding anniversary of the department, the order said.

It added that then president Fidel Ramos issued Administrative Order No. 322 dated March 20, 1997, stating that June 23, 1898 is the founding date of the department tasked to provide quality basic education to learners.

The AO serves as basis in determining the milestone years of the department for the purpose of granting the anniversary bonus (AB) to eligible officials and employees, DO 11, which provides the guidelines on the grant of the bonus, states./CGC
