The signed Joint Venture Agreement between the Central Negros Electric Cooperative and Primelectric Holdings Inc. also got the support of Councilor Claudio Jesus Puentevella.
Puentevella, who chairs the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Energy, Monday said that he will endorse a copy of the signed JVA during the SP regular session on June 7, for approval.
“As far as I am concerned, it is the best solution to our ailing distribution utility,” he stressed, apparently referring to Ceneco.
Roel Castro, president and chief operations officer of Primelectric Holdings Inc., furnished Puentevella with a copy of the JVA signed by him, and Ceneco Board president Jojit Yap, and acting general manager, Atty. Arnel Lapore, June 3.
Puentevella presided over a consultation at SP session hall this morning, to hear the pros and cons of the JVA.
MORE Power, the sister company of Primelectric, is infusing about P2 billion for the improvement and upgrading of Ceneco’s facilities and equipment.
Puentevella also said that he is thankful that the consultation ended peacefully despite the presence of opposing parties to the JVA./GB
