Ang bug-os nga pungsod Pilipinas nagasaulog sang Pungsodnun nga Bulan sang Pagbasa sining bulan sang Noviembre.  Sadtong 2011, mga napulo ka tuig na ang nagligad sang una nga ginmando sang Department of Education sa pungsod ang labing una nga pagsaulog sang Bulan sang Pagbasa sa idalum sang pagpanguna ni anay DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro.  Sa idalum sadtong mando, ang ika-25 nga adlaw sang Noviembre amo naman ang Adlaw sang Pagbasa.  Kadungan sining pagsaulog amo ang National Book Development Month sa idalum naman sang Proclamation 1436 serye sang tuig 2007.
