A former councilor of Isabela in Negros Occidental was shot to death by four assailants in the neighboring Binalbagan town on April 12.
Rodulfo Pajardo, alias “Dulpo”, 72, succumbed to injuries in the head, initial police investigation showed.
The victim was driving a 125 Honda XRM motorcycle and traveling from Sitio Manuleta towards Sitio JMA in Barangay Payao when he was waylaid by four men, who fled on two motorcycles.
The victim used to be a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Investigators of the Binalbagan Municipal Police Station are still establishing the motive and the identities of the four assailants.
On the same day, a 69-year-old farm laborer was found dead in Sitio Tan-ao, Barangay Dian-ay, Escalante City.
The body of alias “Amay,” 66, was found to be in advanced state of decomposition, the police said.
Investigation showed the victim was on his way to the village when an unidentified gunman fired at him.
The victim succumbed to a wound in the head.
Police recovered three fired cartridges from the scene of the incident. | GB
