A 12-hour power outage will affect residents serviced by the Alijis and Murcia substations of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative, starting at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19.
Ceneco said in an advisory Tuesday that the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines will shut down its Bacolod-Alijis 69kV transmission line, for the “reconfiguration of the transformer protection and for SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) replacement”.
Acting general manager Ervin Stan Leo Ticar said that Ceneco shall take advantage of this downtime by conducting simultaneous activities, like the preventive maintenance of the 30MVA Alijis substation and 10MVA Murcia substation and related accessories for safety and reliability; replacement of the three-phase primary rotten poles for safety and reliability of feeder lines; and line clearing activities.
Areas to be affected include Alijis feeders 1 to 7 in Bacolod, and Murcia feeders 1 and 2, affecting the whole municipalities of Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto.
Ticar urges consumers to turn off switches for safety reasons, and to wait for about 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities when power resumes to avoid a surge./CGC
