The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) will shut down its Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV line, starting 6 a.m. on Jan. 28, and affecting the Sum-ag and Lag-asan substations of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative.

The NGCP said its personnel will replace wood poles, and conduct preventive maintenance and correction of defects in the Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV line.

Atty. Arnel Lapore, acting general manager of Ceneco, said the power coop shall take advantage of this downtime by implementing simultaneous maintenance works.

Areas to be affected include those under the SF1 and SF2 feeders, from Sum-ag substation to the highway, all the way to Abuanan Road; as well as the Hilangban substation serving the whole of Bago City.

Another power outage is set on Jan. 28, from 8 a.m. to 12nn, affecting the Mt. View Feeder 4 portion, particularly the Villa Valderrama Subdivision, also to give way to Ceneco activities.

On Jan. 29, a 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. power outage will be experienced by residents served by the Gonzaga substation or feeders AGF 1 to 6, Lapore said.

He added that Ceneco will conduct preventive maintenance and integrity testing of its 30MVA power transformer and related accessories, correction of hot spot and secondary cable reinstallation, cleaning and painting of foundations, replacement of rotten primary poles, and tree clearing activities.

Electricity consumers are advised that switch/es should be turned-off for safety reasons during an outage, and to wait for about 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities, when power resumes, to avoid a surge. ||
