Ten of the 1,106 City Hall employees of Victorias City tested positive for illegal drug use, following an unannounced drug testing Aug. 30 at the Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center in the city.
Victorias Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez yesterday said that those who tested positive for illegal drugs are job order workers. Their contracts, that will end September this year, will no longer be renewed, he said.
Nine tested positive for using suspected shabu, while one tested positive for use of marijuana, Benitez added.
The mayor said the city government will help the 10 job order workers in their rehabilitation, if they want to./GB
