The identities of the skeletal remains of two persons and a decomposing body discovered Dec. 31 at Oyut Bridge in Sitio Lantawan, Brgy. Guimbalaon, Silay City, Negros Occidental, have yet to be identified by the police.

P/Lt. Col. Mark Darroca, Silay City police chief, said the decomposing body was hogtied, and the skeletal remains were placed in a sack.

A witness told the police that a brown Toyota Innova vehicle stopped at the bridge, two persons were seen disembarking and throwing a sack into the ravine.

Results of the autopsy showed that the two persons, whose skeletal remains were separately wrapped and placed in the sack, may have been killed more than a month ago, Darroca said.

He said he believes that the victims may have been killed in other places and only dumped in Silay. The remains were buried Jan. 1 at the city public cemetery.

He advised those who may have missing family members to coordinate with the Silay police for the identification of the victims.

On the other hand, the search for the 17-year-old boy, who was reported missing Dec. 30, ended Jan. 2, after his lifeless body was found floating in a swamp area at Lower Proper in Brgy. Bantayanon, Calatrava.

The family of the teenager has requested the Calatrava police to conduct an autopsy to determine the real cause of death./GB
