A P50-million water district rehabilitation and waterline improvement project will soon benefit residents of Kabankalan City  in Negros Occidental, following its groundbreaking on Monday (April 15)  led by Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.

Kabankalan City is the home city of his father, Joe Zubiri.

Zubiri said he expects that the project will further boost the development of Kabankalan City, especially during the period of El Niño.

Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri and Mayor Benjie Miranda lead the groundbreaking rites for the P50 million water district rehabilitation project in Kabankalan City, with Rep. Mercedes Alvarez and Sugar Regulatory Administrator Pablo Azcona, among others.

Negros Occidental Fifth District Rep. Emilio Bernardino Yulo said that Zubiri also led the inauguration and blessing of a P15-million dormitory at the Carlos Hilado State Memorial University (CHSMU) in Barangay Enclaro, Binalbagan town.

Yulo said the CHMSU Binalbagan dormitory has a 64-bed capacity.

Another P15-million dormitory at the Central Philippines State University campus in Moises Padilla town was also completed, and is now ready for occupancy, he added.

Meanwhile, Yulo also reported that 9,682 scholars in the Fifth District received their educational assistance on April 15 and 16. | GB
