The management of Victorias Milling Company and the city government of Victorias are planning more partnerships in providing livelihood to Victoriahanons.

This was announced yesterday by VMC president Linley Retirado as they are now collaborating with the administration of Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez on how to generate jobs for more residents.

In his response, Benitez said he is happy with the city’s continued “partnership with VMC.”

“You can’t say Victorias City without VMC,” Benitez said, adding that the city government owes a big gratitude and appreciation to VMC for having an annual VMC Day during the Kalamayan Festival every December.

“We thank VMC for its continuous support for the city’s activities,” the mayor added.

Retirado, who led VMC officials in witnessing the Sabor Victorias, an inter-barangay cookfest participated in by 13 barangays of Victorias, said they always prefer employees from Victorias City due to sugar mill’s proximity to their homes.

“They know the culture of VMC as a company,” Retirado said.

To further revitalize local tourism, Retirado said they are rehabilitating the Victorias Golf and Country Club as part of another field of collaboration with the city government.
