Tribu Sicablun Quatro wins Cadiz’s drumbeating contest

Tribu Sicablun Quatro was hailed the grand champion of the 1st Neon “Patikanay” Drumbeating Competition during the opening of Cadiz City’s   Golden Dinagsa Festival on Jan. 12.

It took home a cash prize of P25,000 plus P6,000 or P3,000 each for the Best in Costume and Best in Presentation special awards.

Tribu Sicablun Quatro is comprised of drumbeaters from Barangays Zone 4, Sicaba and Luna.

Named first runner-up with P20,000 cash prize was Tribu Maraynon of Barangays Zone 2 and Zone 5.

Tribu Matinambi Tres of Barangays  Mabini, Zone 3 and Tinampaan, Tribu Bucad Caduhaan of Barangays  Caduhaan, Cadiz Viejo and Burgos, Tribu Majeca of Barangays Cabahug, Magsaysay and Jerusalem, and Tribu Tibanda of Barangays Daga, Tiglawigan and Banquerohan finished  second, third, fourth and fifth runners-up, respectively.

Tribu Matinambi Tres received P15,000; Tribu Bucad Caduhaan, P10,000; Tribu Majeca, P7,000; and Tribu Tibanda, P5,000.

Consolation prizes were given to Tribu Hitalon of Barangays Zone 1, Bonifacio and Zone 6 and Tribu Sewanara of Barangays Celestino Villacin and V.F. Gustilo.

“Patikanay” was held for the first time in the Dinagsa Festival.

Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. welcomed the large turnout of the crowd during the event.

“We produced our own beats and sound, and we’re proud of such. We will make ‘Patikanay’ a regular event/contest in the succeeding staging of Dinagsa Festival,” the mayor said. ||
