The implementation of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program at Luis Hervias High School and Mansilingan Agro-Industrial High School, both in Bacolod City, got the support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Councilor Al Victor Espino, chairperson of the SP Committee on Education, said that integrating the STEM Education Program into the high school curriculum has been shown to increase student engagement, critical thinking skills, and preparedness for further education and careers.

Luis Hervias High School is committed to promoting equity and diversity in STEM education, ensuring that all students have access to high-quality STEM instructions and resources, Espino said in his resolution approved by the SP, adding that providing access to quality STEM education opportunities is crucial in ensuring that all students have the chance to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world.

He added that the Mansilingan Agro-Industrial High School is committed to promoting quality education to students and preparing them for future challenges and opportunities.

“The proposed Science, Technology, and Engineering Program will undoubtedly contribute to further enhancing the educational experience of the students, equipping them with crucial skills and knowledge in the field,” the resolution added. | CGC
