The tourism program in Sipaway has been strengthened with the selection of 14 households volunteering to offer overnight accommodations to visitors.

The homestay volunteer hosts were chosen when  the city government launched the Search for Sipaway Environment Friendly Homestay Year on Sept. 24-25.

The volunteer households responded to a search conducted by the San Carlos City government through the City Environment Management Office.

The homestay volunteers were chosen on the basis of cleanliness, practice of proper waste disposal and posting of environmental related Information Education Communication campaign materials.

Beautification, landscaping  and the availability of  an operational material

recovery facility were also considered in the selection.

The search was conducted by CEMO’s Engineer Magnolia Antonio, City Planning and Development Coordinator Officer Michael Joseph Rizalde, Ma. Awani, Hotel Housekeeping head and Vicente Homer Gonzales Jr., San Carlos City Organized Rescuers for Community Assistance Incorporated representative.*
