Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. visited the municipality of E. B. Magalona in Negros Occidental on Thursday, March 21, along with his visit to Victorias City for the opening day of the 26th Kadalag-an Festival.
Mayor Marvin Malacon, Councilor Reylan Gamboa Sr., Liga ng mga Barangay president Marlon Malacon and Executive Assistant Matthew Louis Malacon led in welcoming Revilla to the town, which hosted a consultative meeting with him at the Asenso Hall.
Joining the meeting were barangay captains, who raised several concerns with the senator.
Mayor Malacon mentioned to Revilla about medical assistance for Saraviahanon residents with serious illnesses.
Revilla informed E. B. Magalona officials that he is the principal author of the Expanded Centenarian Act, which was signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. last month.
Revilla said under the expanded centenarian law, Filipinos who reach the age of 80, 85, 90, and 95 will receive P10,000 cash gift from the government.
They will receive the cash gift next year, as the funding was not allocated in the 2024 budget yet.
Revilla said elderly Filipinos have to register with the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs to avail of the cash gift.
After his visit to E. B. Magalona, Revilla proceeded to Victorias City where he joined several stars of GMA TV network for a “Kapuso Fiesta Show” at the Sidlak Victorias Global City. ||
