‘Paeng’ victims in EB Magalona to receive financial assistance

Owners of houses destroyed by the trough of Tropical Storm Paeng in the coastal barangay of Tuburan in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, are expected to receive P5,000 in financial aid each, said Mayor Marvin Malacon.

This is on top of housing materials, such as corrugated metal sheets, nails, plywood, and nipa, turned over by Malacon to 10 families of Sitio Takas in the barangay Nov. 3.

Malacon also announced that the municipal government will give housing materials to about 40 families of Sitio Takas, whose houses were damaged by TS Paeng, pending the assessment of the Municipal Engineer’s Office.

Malacon was assisted by Municipal Planning and Development Officer, Engr. Erwin Poniado, and Tuburan barangay captain Ramonito Espacio Jr., in the distribution of housing materials.

On the other hand, the  Office of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, represented by his staff Lawrence Chua, turned over 100 food packs that  contained rice, noodles, and canned goods, as well as 100 umbrellas, T-shirts, basketballs, and volleyballs to the affected families in the same barangay./GB
