The Rebolusyonaryong Alyansang Makabansa (RAM) and allied organization United Guardian Brotherhood Inc. (UGBI) in Bacolod and Negros endorsed the candidacy of businessman Dan Atayde for congressman of Bacolod, during their 32nd founding anniversary in Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod Nov. 30.

UGBI chairman Ricardo Noble said they chose Atayde “as the person capable of bringing more developments to Bacolod”, adding that he will also support the reelection bid of Mayor Evelio Leonardia and his partymates in the 2022 elections.

Atayde thanked the members of UGBI and promised to deliver basic services to Bacolodnons.

The RAM-UGBI anniversary celebration started with a motorcade along the major streets of Bacolod City.

RAM Partylist representative Aloysia Lim, the wife of retired general Danny Lim, was guest of honor at the gathering at the RAM multipurpose center, attended by close to a thousand members from the different towns and cities of Negros Occidental.

Lim said the death of her husband, who was the chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, in January due to COVID, strengthened the cause of RAM to continue his mission to represent the voice of brotherhood and to deliver social services.

RAM had delivered several projects in different barangays of Bacolod and Negros, like multipurpose buildings and waiting sheds.

Lim added that the group pushed for the increase in the allowance of teachers and barangay tanods, and has helped different sectors through its educational, health, medical, and funeral assistance.

The RAM national leadership admitted that all presidential aspirants have been courting them for support but they have not committed to any candidate.

The group has more than 20,000 members nationwide and more than 12,000 UGBI members in Bacolod.

Lim lauded the support of their allied forces, like the UGBI, for her to take over the position left by her husband. — MML
