Department of Health-Negros Island Region (DOH-NIR) Regional Director Razel Nikka Hao lauded the provincial government of Negros Occidental for the establishment of Provincial Health Office supply chain management warehouse, the first in the region.

The facility, inaugurated in Bacolod City on Wednesday (Feb. 4), aims to ensure uninterrupted health services, adherence to proper quality standards, and rapid response, especially during public health emergencies.

Hao said the investment in the facility is not merely an infrastructure decision, but a governance choice consistent with high standards.

“It reflects discipline and foresight in how health services are supported here, beyond programs and beyond personalities,” she added.

Health Undersecretary Mary Ann Maestral described the province’s supply chain management warehouse as “above the prescribed standards”.

“I am pleased that the province has established this without the assistance from the national government. In fact, it exceeds the standards, and I am proud of that,” Maestral said.

Lacson said the facility represents one of the key pillars of the province’s health services — efficient, organized, and ready to serve.

“The establishment of the warehouse reflects foresight and responsibility, and a proactive response to one of the most critical aspects of health care delivery, ensuring the continuous availability and accessibility of medical commodities, in strong support of the implementation of Universal Health Care in the province,” the governor said.

“By improving storage, inventory monitoring, and distribution processes, we reduce shortages, prevent wastage, and enhance reliability throughout our health care network,” he added.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said the facility marks another milestone for the province, strengthening its capacity to support local health offices and ensuring that constituents receive timely and reliable resources to effectively implement public health goals. | GB
