BFP saves call center agent

A call center agent, who tried to end his life by jumping from a building, was rescued yesterday by personnel of the Bureau of Fire and Protection in Bacolod City.

Personnel of the Negros Occidental BFP Special Rescue Force (SRF) Alpha Team of Angel -01 Rescue Truck, led by SFO1 Arnel Chavez, was alerted on the attempt of a man to jump from the 5th floor of Concentrix Building at Lacson Street in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

The presence of the call center agent at the edge of the BPO 5th floor building as early as 6 a.m. yesterday, has alarmed his family and colleagues working in the building.

After 30 minutes of negotiation, a BFP personnel managed to snatch the call center agent from the edge of the building and brought him down to safety.

Problems on his lovelife, reportedly, triggered the attempt to end his life by jumping from the building where he works.

BFP personnel were joined by the Chamber volunteers, Mountain Tiger and personnel of Police Station 3, who also responded to the suicide attempt situation.

The call center agent, whose identity is being withheld, was endorsed to the Police Station 3 by the BFP.

“This accomplishment is just one of the manifestations of genuine service, selflessness and dedication to duty of your friendly firefighters who protect and serve any form of life,” the BFP-Negros Occidental said in a statement. | GPB
