Local government units (LGUs) participating in the 30th Panaad sa Negros Festival on April 13 to 19 will receive a subsidy of P500,000 each.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said on Friday, Feb. 13 this year’s subsidy increased by P100,000, from only P400,000 in the 2024.
He added that Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has already ordered the release of financial aid to the LGUs.
Lacson has again designated Charina Magallanes-Tan as the festival director.
The provincial government also allocated P50 million for disbursement to various Panaad sa Negros Festival committees.
Diazs said they have partnered with the Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc. (NYLI), a youth-led civil society organization dedicated to mentorship and youth representation, to help involve the younger generation.
“This year, we are planning events that will attract young people. This is their time to showcase their programs during our Panaad Festival,” Diaz said, adding that NYLI will suggest possible programs to make the festival more appealing to youth audiences. | GB
