The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod has allowed the partial closure of San Juan Street, from 6 a.m. to noon tomorrow, Oct. 8, as members of Team Asenso of Mayor Alfredo Benitez are expected to file their certificates of candidacy for various posts in next year’s elections.

Jose Antonio Robello of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) told the Negros NOW Daily that they will deploy two additional personnel, aside from those already assigned at the plaza and nearby areas, to ensure the smooth flow of vehicular traffic despite the temporary road closure.

Bacolod City Police Office Station 1 personnel are also expected to assist the BTAO, and secure the area as supporters of Team Asenso gather at the plaza and at the San Sebastian Cathedral.

“My plan is to leave one lane open para partial road closure lang, para wala na rerouting,” Robello said.

Benitez requested the partial closure approved Oct. 4 by the SP, majority of whom are Team Asenso members and will be filing their COCs at Comelec Bacolod, after a mass and a program at the public plaza. | CGC
