Parents, students get food packs

The 542 Engineer Construction Battalion of the Philippine Army gave 200 food packs to the parents’ association and pupils of Doña Gregoria Ramos Memorial School (DGRMS) in Purok Calasa, Barangay Caradio-an in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental Dec. 2.

The gift-giving activity, dubbed “Bayanihan sa Kapaskuhan”, was a collaborative effort of the 542 Engineer Construction Battalion, 94th Infantry Battalion, Brgy. Caradioan Council, the Convoy of Hope, Hope Builders Organization Negros Island Inc., 100.5 CPSU Radyo Muscovado Sweet FM, the Association of Negros Producers, Parents-Teachers Association of the Doña Gregoria Ramos Memorial School, and other stakeholders.

The Bayanihan sa Kapaskuhan gift-giving event initiated by the 542 Engineer Construction Battalion of the Philippine Army in Barangay Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental Dec. 2.

Each pack contains six kilos of rice, assorted canned goods, noodles, and sachets of coffee.

The pupils also enjoyed the tug-of-war, sack race, and ‘pabitin’ games.

1Lt. Fatima Podadera, CMO officer of the 542ECB, said in a press release that “in this season of giving, no matter how big or small the present is, it will become a great blessing to someone who has a grateful heart.”

The activity was also attended by Dr. Jen-Ann Rosal, assistant schools division superintendent; Jema Gatilogo, SEPS II-Social Mobilization Section; Atty. Epi Ma. Kassandra Dajao, Schools Division legal counsel; Reymund Titong, Sybelle Nobleza, DGRMS teacher Riza Carasaquit, Caradio-an Punong Barangay Rolando Ginlo, Allene Garth Fernandez, teacher-in-charge of DGRMS, 2Lt. John Paul Lupiba of the 94IB Charlie Coy, and Sgt. Neptalie Iballa of the 94IB Alpha Coy, among others. ||
