Following the recent confiscation of P9.6 million worth of suspected shabu, the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit seized P6.8 million more in illegal drugs from a suspect in Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay 12 on Thursday (Oct. 17).
Led by PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez, the operatives arrested Darrel Demafilez alias “Mar-Mar”, during a buy-bust which also yielded a kilogram of suspected shabu valued at P6.8 million.
The prevailing price per gram of shabu is P6,800.
PCol. Joeresty Coronica, police city director, said they have been doubling efforts to prevent illegal drugs from reaching the streets during the MassKara Festival.
Meanwhile, an operation in Purok Gumamela, Barangay San Juan, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental led to the arrest of a suspect on Wednesday (Oct. 16).
The 39-year-old drug personality yielded about 30 grams of suspected shabu worth P204,000. | GB
