Police seized over P442,000 in suspected shabu, weighing approximately 65 grams, in anti-illegal drug operations across Bacolod City over the weekend.
The largest recovery was during a buy-bust operation at around 11:24 p.m. Sept. 6 in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, when City Drug Enforcement Unit operatives seized 60 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P408,000, from a 58-year-old suspect.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) classified the suspect as a high-value individual (HVI), who is also listed in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
Police seized 14 sachets of suspected shabu, and the buy-bust money, from the suspect.
Over an hour earlier, Police Station 8 personnel also netted five grams of suspected shabu, valued at roughly P34,000, from a 42-year-old upholstery worker, classified as a street-level individual, in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod.
Police retrieved six sachets of suspected shabu, a coin pouch, and buy-bust money, from him.
Both suspects are in police custody and face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
BCPO director, P/Col. Eugene Rebadomia, commended the operating units for their swift, coordinated response, adding the command remains relentless in cutting off the drug supply chains in the highly-urbanized city. | TMD
