A series of operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Negros Island from April 7 to 10 yielded P41.852 million worth of suspected shabu, reports showed.
The bulk of about four kilos with a market value of P27.2 million were recovered by the police from a drug suspect in Barangay Maslog, Sibulan, Negros Oriental on April 9.
Identified only as alias “Eljin”, the arrested suspect, considered as a high-value individual, is a resident of Bais City, Negros Oriental.
On the same day, the police seized about 75 grams of suspected shabu worth P510,000 from a certain “Tata” in Barangay 2, Bacolod City.
A joint operation of the PDEA and the PNP resulted to the arrest of alias “Khent”, 23, in Barangay Bantayanon, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on April 7.
Operatives found in his possession two vacuum-sealed plastic packs containing two kilos of shabu worth P13.6 million.
On April 8, three drug suspects yielded about 65 grams of suspected shabu valued at P442,000 during an operation in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.
Seven more suspects were arrested by the police in Negros Occidental on April 10 that yielded an estimated P100,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs. | GB
