P35M in shabu seized in WV

The Police Regional Office-6 confiscated P35 million worth of illegal drugs from 263 suspected peddlers in Western Visayas for the month of July.

This was the result of 211 police operations conducted across the region, police regional spokesman PLt. Col. Arnel Solis said.

In the past month, operatives seized 5.5 kilos of suspected shabu and 1,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO) arrested 107 drug personalities, followed by Iloilo City Police Office, 42; Iloilo PPO, 34;  Bacolod City Police Office, 25; Capiz PPO, 21;  Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-6, 18;  Guimaras PPO, 7;  Aklan PPO, 5; and Antique PPO, 4.

“Despite these achievements, let us keep pursuing the remaining persons involved in the illegal trade. It is our goal to cleanse our streets of the menace of illegal drugs,” PBrig.Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, said in a statement.

The RPDEU-6 has the highest volume of confiscation of about 1.6 kilos of shabu with an estimated market value of P10.9 million, followed by the Bacolod City Police Office with seizure of an estimated 1.1 kilos of shabu valued at P7.7 million. | GB
