Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson turned over a total of P22.32 million worth of farm equipment to members of the Federation of Irrigators’ Association Central Negros–Bago River Irrigation System in ceremonies held Friday, Nov. 13.
The turnover of different farm implements, including tractors, rotavator/tiller and combine harvesters, among others, was held at the National Irrigation Administration office.
The agricultural equipment hope to help farmers bring down their cost of production thus, consequently increase their income.
The FIACN-BRIS is headed by Rosemary Caunca who facilitated the proposal and release of the projects.
Also joining Lacson during the Friday event were Bago City Councilors Victor Michael Javellana and Andrew Martin Torres, Engr. Isaias Melendez, division manager of NIA – Negros Occidental Irrigation Management Office, Engr. Ma. Elena Basco of NIA – Bago, and Rafael Magalona, president of Tabunan Small Farmers Irrigators Association, Inc., among others.
